Cheney Pool Update

We were lucky enough to get a quick tour of the pool today. It's looking very close to being done, rumor by the staff is the grand opening is on Saturday – Rodeo Parade day! – but we will all have to wait and see for sure what happens. The lack of official communication seems to mean something needs to be finished still. The streets are getting repaired, and some furniture was still being assembled by the staff, but all the major fixtures are in and water attractions are running.

There is a wading area for small kids, with a number of fun little fountains – flowers, buckets and others. The lazy river has a whirlpool in the center, and at the end of it there is a mini-ninja obstacle course and two basketball hoops to play with.

The obvious big attraction is two water slides – one open and one a closed. They have sensors to notify when the person gets to the end of the slide, but a lifeguard will make the final call on when to proceed.

The main pool has 6 lanes in it, with a climbing wall, a zipline – called a zip'n – into the pool, the classic diving board and some adjustable diving blocks for the lanes. Due to potential collisions, the climbing wall won't be open at the same time as the diving board, but the zip'n, will be.

4 second video of a lifeguard ziplining into the pool.
The pool cleaning robot was fun to watch too!

Hopefully Cheney will be enjoying it's new pool soon. What are y'all excited to try out?
