April Pool Update

Things have been mostly status quo lately on the public meeting front so I thought I would focus on some of the Cheney City Pool progress.

Cheney City Pool Progress
I've been really impressed watching the pool progress this past month. The crew working on it seems to be working around the clock, including weekends. They seem very determined to meet the City's commitment to have the pool open and ready for use when summer hits in June. The pool was apparently a bit behind schedule but at a recent Council meeting they said a new site project lead was brought in to help get things back on track. Seems to be working.
In February the pool arrived from (I believe) Italy!

They now seem to have it assembled, installed and sealed. The pools were covered up while the sealing process was happening. In the past couple months, they have also been working to build the aquatic buildings which went up incredibly fast.

This month they got power setup to the buildings, the roofs are shingled, and the slide arrived!

They got the slide supports and stairs installed so far and I'm sure it won't be long before the slide is also put together.

It's been a lot of fun living across from the pool and watching all this day-to-day action. Despite how construction projects seem to typically go, I feel this one might actually complete pretty close to on-time. Looking forward to seeing it all finished and all of us getting to have some fun this summer!
