April Cheney Meetings Preview
Hi folks, and happy Spring! April really snuck up on me this year. Between spring break and Easter kicking off the month, it's been moving faster than expected. My goal is to get this preview out before the first public meeting of the month, but this one is running later than I'd like and a few meetings have already taken place. I hope it's still a helpful resource as we work through the rest of April. I've included those earlier meetings for completeness and to give a full picture of the month.
As always, you can find a condensed preview of upcoming meetings in the Cheney Connections city newsletter, which arrives with your paper utility bill and is also posted on the city website. One note worth calling out: the list there is a bit out of date at this point. The Park Board meeting was originally rescheduled from the first Wednesday of the month to April 15th, but has since been cancelled.

April 2 at 6pm | City Administrator Candidate Meet & Greet
Wren Pierson Community Center
Cheney has been without a permanent full-time City Administrator since last summer, and Mayor Martin has been working hard to fill this critical position. On April 2nd, she organized a public meet and greet with the two finalist candidates, giving the community a chance to hear directly from each of them, ask questions, and share feedback to help inform her final selection. Whoever she chooses will come before the Council for a confirmation vote.
April 9 | Lodging Tax Advisory Committee
The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee met on April 9th to review lodging tax disbursement applications. The meeting cadence for this committee is still finding its rhythm, and the meeting details weren't posted to the City Agenda Center ahead of time, so it may have flown under the radar for some folks.
April 9 at 5:30pm | Historic Preservation Commission
Utility Building, 112 Anderson Road
The Historic Preservation Commission typically meets on the first Thursday of each month at 5:30pm. This month's meeting was moved to April 9th to accommodate the City Administrator candidate meet and greet the week prior.
